2020 has given us the opportunity to build a regenerative, zero emissions society based on our shared values: equity, diversity, respect for all life, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the understanding we only have one planet. The 2020 RESET SUMMIT is focused on providing the space for discussions as well as connecting the community with experts and to help with the “How”.
This opening discussion sets the scene on the ‘where to from here’ discussion, focusing on the big picture with our next big challenge, decarbonisation of the economy. Our speakers will look at the reset through different lenses and ask the big questions – Where to Now. Mayor Jim Boult will provide insights into how a Reset could look like for our district. Dr. Carly Green and James Salinger, both lead authors for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, who will look at the RESET through a climate lens. Other speakers to be confirmed soon.
The RESET Summit is a six day annual event held in the Southern Lakes District. Its aim is to educate, inspire and enable our transition as a community and nation to a healthy, thriving, diverse, carbon zero community. Events may be subject to restrictions with respect to numbers due to COVID-19. If we do need to reduce numbers, those who booked tickets first will have priority bookings. Spaces are limited so please book in advance.
